| The Christmas card you are about to view was originally conceived in the fall of 1995, while I was living in California. The previous year, I'd done my first "mass produced" greeting card, except, each card was hand painted (no two were alike), and they were numbered (1 of 17, 2 of 17, etc). They were given to my closet friends, and a celebrity or two (Brendan Fraser and Anne Rice both received one). Unfortunately, I only got as far as printing the new card, but never painted them. The reproduction you see here is 90% faithful to the original...the card stock was a light color (like the beige color you see), and the text style was very similiar. The first panel is what the cover would have looked like after I would have painted in the "railroad tracks". Those were added on my computer, thanks to a wonderful paint program. The second and third panels are what was written inside the card. The text in the third panel is actually bigger than it was in the card (it was in small text, at the very bottom of the inside of the card), but I enlarged it here so it was easier to read. The fourth, and final, panel is the text on the bottom of the back of the card. The red insignia is my trademark...combining the S and P of Simply Perfect. The only change to this portion of the card is the year in which it was produced (the printed cards all say c 1995). I hope you enjoy the card, and its meaning. I wish you all, my dear friends, a joyous and wonderful holiday season. Be thankful not so much for all that you have, but moreso for all those that you know, and those that you love. Happy Holidays! With Love, Bert |
